Tooth Knocked Out
Try to find the tooth, rinse it under warm water without scrubbing, and place it in a cup of milk. Bring it with you — we'll try to save it if possible.

Tooth Broken or Chipped
As long as the tooth structure is in place, we can typically restore it with bonding, a veneer, or a crown. Bring any broken fragments in milk or water.

Find the tooth and rinse it gently in cool water — do not scrub it or use soap. If possible, place it back in the socket and hold it there with clean gauze. If you can't, place the tooth in a clean container with cold milk, saliva, or water and call us immediately at (718) 317-1737. The faster you act, the better the chance of saving the tooth.
Contact our emergency dental office as soon as possible. A baby tooth should not be replanted because of the potential for damage to the developing permanent tooth underneath.
Call us immediately — quick action can save the tooth, prevent infection, and reduce the need for extensive treatment. Rinse the mouth with water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. If you can find the broken fragment, place it in cold milk or water and bring it with you.
You need immediate medical attention. An emergency medical team may be able to reach you faster than you can get to the hospital. A severe head injury can be life-threatening — call 911 first, then contact us for dental follow-up.
